Kindy Speak

Speaking in public can be a nerve wrecking experience for anyone, young or old. However, we believe that an early introduction to public speaking can be chart the path for more confident orators in the future. Hence, Kindy Speak was born.

Aimed at the 5-6 year-olds, Kindy Speak adopts the story-based approach to help children express themselves through everyday conversation in English and public speaking.

Why the story-based approach? At this age, children are experiencing a lot of development on a personal, social and emotional level. As they are absorbing knowledge like sponges, trying to understand the people and the world around them, stories helps to boost their thinking capacity, arouse curiosity and encourages them to ask questions. On top of that, stories help to increase their social communication skills, as they learn how to communicate their feelings and learn about values.

In this programme, the children will read a handpicked book of the month, learn new words and phrases, do arts and crafts projects that will help them remember the themes in the book, participate in speech and dramatic activities, and also learn how to write their own little speeches. At the end of every month, the children will have the opportunity to deliver their own speeches in front of an audience of up to 30 people.

In 2017, we have witnessed the growing confidence in many of our little ones, which cannot be conveyed through textbooks nor a mobile app. This has been nurtured through the careful guidance and encouragement from our teachers, and we welcome your children to join us too!
