Everyday English

Classes will be conducted only in English. There will be fun and interactive activities to encourage children to converse in the language. It will be done through 5 themes (People, Home and School, Environment, Seasons and Festivals, Science and Technology) and activities include:

a)  Grammar and Vocabulary building

b)  Fun and Interactive Activities/Games

c)  Sharing Sessions

d)  Field Trip

e)  Progressive Assessment

Course objectives:

• To enable a child to gain confidence in speaking English.

• To convey ideas competently to other English speakers.

• To use appropriate register for effective communication.  (choice of vocabulary, pronunciation, syntax according to the communicative purpose, social context and social status of user)

• To enable a child to ask questions in context.

• To elaborate and explain in a structured manner.

• To show an awareness and appreciation of the language through a series of sharing sessions on books they have read.

Frequency: 2x a week (1.5 hours each time)
